In the "ITS: Passenger Information and Services" category, Keolis Besançon Mobilités won for its Validometer, an innovative tool combining nudging techniques and technology. Inside the vehicle, this device displays the number of boarding passengers via the counting data system and the number of validations made. The visible difference between the two numbers encourages passengers to validate their tickets. Additionally, the anonymized data collection helps identify areas with higher fraud rates, enabling field teams to mobilize and reinforce passenger awareness through preventive and control actions.

Keolis at the heart of innovation during the 2024 Smart Move Challenge

The Smart Move Challenge, a key event in the mobility sector, was organized as part of the European Mobility Expo. This competition highlights promising solutions for public transportation. This year, Keolis had the honor of participating on the jury, demonstrating its commitment to sustainable innovation and emerging technologies.

The French startup Mobi.deep stood out, winning the Grand Prize for its virtual reality solutions that help individuals less familiar with public transit practice the steps needed to confidently use public transportation (finding their route, purchasing a ticket at the appropriate rate, etc.).

The Audience Favorite award went to NexSwiss, a startup that transforms your smartphone into an audio tour guide, turning bus and tram rides into guided tours. The content, generated by AI, is synchronized with your GPS location and covers topics like monuments, city history, and events.

In the Tools and Services for Travelers category, the award went to BUSPAS, a Canadian company. BUSPAS designs innovative, lightweight, autonomous, and easy-to-deploy bus stops equipped with color e-paper screens, sensors to collect data (passenger count, waiting time, safety), an automatic lighting system, and solar panel power.
